A Clear Vision Begins with Care

On 13th Aug 2025,  Distribution of spectacles organized at BC Girls Residential Junior College, Thanam Village, Visakhapatnam, witnessed an inspiring initiative aimed at transforming lives — one pair of spectacles at a time.

Meenahari Charitable Trust, in proud association with the Lions Club of VSP Steel City, organized a free distribution of spectacles for the school children, reinforcing the belief that every child deserves the right to see the world clearly and pursue education without barriers.

Why This Initiative Matters

Vision problems are often undiagnosed in school-going children, especially in rural and under-resourced areas. Impaired vision can lead to poor academic performance, lack of confidence, and eventually, dropout from schools. Through this initiative, we aim to:

  • Identify and address visual impairments early.

  • Support academic growth by enabling children to read and learn comfortably.

  • Empower young girls to participate fully in classroom activities and beyond.

Event Highlights

  • Eye Screening Camp: The program began with a comprehensive eye check-up camp conducted by professional optometrists and volunteers.

  • Spectacle Distribution: Over 30+ students were provided with custom spectacles based on their specific vision needs — free of cost.

  • Awareness Session: Students were also educated on eye health, hygiene, and the importance of regular check-ups.

  • Community Participation: Faculty members, parents, and local leaders were present, making it a truly community-driven event.
